kid sister's album is supposed to drop tomorrow, and what can i say, i don't expect it to be out tomorrow. i mean, how many times has she postponed the release date?
frankly, i've given up. she's out of the radar, almost nonexistent in my eyes.
like, don't get me wrong, she's totally fun and awesome to listen to, but shit, i can't wait forever. it was supposed to come out like a year and a half ago. tell me what's wrong with this picture.
i've been looking for leaks, there's nothing.
all it says on her myspace (yeah, who goes on myspace anymore? i was desperate for information, chill out) is that it's coming soon. coming soon when? next week? next month? next year? in fact, next year seems more believable than tomorrow.



also, apparently, this bitch is playing at webster on november 27th.
there's no other information about that show on the webster website. awesome!

kid sister fails again.

yet another kid sister post.

supposedly, her album is coming out on october 6th.
now, people who just jumped on the kid sis boat, you may or may not know that this is the 5th or 6th time that she has postponed the release date.
we have all established that she's incredibly unreliable.
but after i heard her new single "right hand hi," i love her again, and i forgive her for being an asshole.

alright ... so i've already established that kid sister is unreliable, but this just brought her infamous unreliability to the next level.
here's the news on her album.
it was set to come out last june, then postponed to july, then september, then november, then january, then now, late march.
there has been no news of it since the postponement from january to march. is the record even done? will it ever be done?
probably not.

now, her record release show was set to be at bowery on november 25th, it was postponed to february, then more recently postponed to april 25th. i went to check if tickets were sold out, only to find out that the show had been canceled altogether.
SUPER DUPER JOB, KID SIS! WHAT THE HELL?

again, i think she's doing this because she's secretly pregnant, so she thinks she can just slack for 9 months.
the 9 months that could've been the most important in her career as a musician.
she is obviously to blame, but some of the blame also goes to her boyfrannnnnn alain macklovitch, aka a-trak ... who is currently doing a tour with dj medhi. we don't see a-trak taking his fatherly responsibilities, do we? bullshit.

i'm still dying over spring awakening. the soundtrack has ben on repeat for the last two days.
and i probably know almost all the words now. dear lord.

but nowwwwww i have even more ear candy ... that being the long awaited **~GRAND~** ... matt and kim's new album!
i was a little hesitant to listen to it at first because it's obviously not out yet.
it leaked on the interwebs ... i figured, a download won't hurt as long as i buy it on the 22nd.
so i listened to it. four times already. it's fantastic.



i was afraid that it would sound different from their previous material considering they just got signed to a new label, but it was recorded in matt's bedroom, so you can't expect clean studio quality. and by no means do i WANT clean studio quality. the rough edges are what i love about matt and kim's music. it's not overproduced at all. it was the perfect way to follow up on their self-titled release. hand claps, exciting synths, a melodica!? OH MY GOSH!
i was so happy to finally hear the new songs that i'd been hearing them play since 2007 on recording.
it gave me that feeling like "ohh...that's this song!" i love that! haha.
"cutdown" is that song i've referred to as the "5-4-3-2-1 song" for the past year and a half. so good, and "cinders" is the super fast song where matt goes crazy and sticks his leg out.
"don't slow down" and "i'll take us home" are probably my two favorite tracks right now.
i'm sure that'll change over time, but they're the two that are really sticking in my head at the moment.

their album release show next thursday will be epic (i still have yet to hear who these "special guests" are), despite the fact that i have my history midterm the day after :o
whatevz, i'll be fine.

in other news, kid sister's show at bowery got postponed ONCE AGAIN!
this is the 50 billionth time, basically.
but it's definitely because she's totally pregnant.
or at least i think she is.
i mean, do i have to show you?? i think i do.
did anyone else notice her baby bump at the woodie awards?
the only pictures mtvu posted of her on the website are from the boobs up...not showing her tummy. peculiar.

when i first thought she was pregnant, it was mid november. she looked about two or three months in. so in theory, by the end of april, it will have been 9 months and that baby will be out, and she'll be able to throw her baby into a-trak's arms and play that goddamn show!
hopefully this won't affect the release date of the album which is SUPPOSED to come out on the 27th ... 2 weeks from this thursday.

oh wait, wtf ... so as i was writing this blog, i came across some information.
it's now set to drop in march! FLIPPIN MARCH! WHAT THE HELL?? I'M SO UPSET!

ANYWAYZZZZZZZZ ... further along the line, on february 7th, as i've mentioned many times already, beirut is playing at bam.
it will be magnificent. i haven't seen him since september 2007, and all this talk in U.S. History II about gulags, cherbourg, rhineland, and beirut the country is making me crazy!

i'm still a little bit speechless.

last night gina, anna and i had the opportunity to go to the mtvU woodie awards at roseland.
apparently this event was 18+ ... but we got lucky and they didn't even check id's.
the line-up was to die for, and i had just been flipping out all week because of it.
i can't think of anything that can beat the cool kids, lykke li, all time low, santogold, and vampire weekend ... ALL IN ONE NIGHT!
oh, and special guest appearances by q-tip, spank rock, and ... get ready for it ... CHROMEO .... oh my goddddd.
i was basically dying the whole night.
there were two stages, the performance stage and the award stage. of course, we wanted to be at the performance stage, so we made our way up to the third row. good enough for right then, but of course, we ended up in the front row for santogold and vampire weekend.



first up were the cool kids (well, no, actually there was some other kid who rapped before them ... i don't remember his name, but he was funny) ... anyways, the cool kids only did one song, "delivery man," but it was flippin great. they had guys throwing ice cream sandwiches into the crowd. sadly, i didn't catch one. mikey had a great sweater on. he's always so stylish. hahaa.
i just wish they played more than one song. they just disappeared after that.











hayley williams from paramore came out to present an award that boys like girls won. they didn't deserve it. haha.



next, kid sis and a-trak came out to announce an award that chromeo happened to win. best shit ever.
it was so cute when chromeo came out and they all hugged ... it was like a big wonderful family on stage ... wait, what am i saying "like" a big wonderful family?? they are a family. a-trak and dave 1 are basically the coolest brothers ever.
oh, and btw ... kid sis is TOTALLY pregnant ... with a-trak's baby obvz. their child will be amazing.
just saying.









lykke li played next. bjorn from peter bjorn and john was playing bass for her. haha.
she did three songs, "dance dance dance," "i'm good, i'm gone" and she did one other song that i wasn't so sure of, but q-tip came out to sing with her. soo awesome. then q-tip did a few songs on his own. it was great.













they did some more awards, whatevz ... then mark hoppus came out to introduce all time low.
a winning combination for sure. all time low were just great. jack and alex can come and climb onto my head any day. as for jack shoving the mic in my mouth, well, i can do without that.
the booty dancers during "dear maria" freaked me out ... hahahaa.

























after them, a bunch of assholes left the crowd. santogold was next.
i can't even comprehend how cool she is. her outfits are always fabulous, and she just knows how to command a crowd.
she kept looking at me and gina and basically singing to us. it was so cute.
oh, and her dancers are my favorite. like i've said before, I WANT TO BE ONE OF HER DANCERS!
then during her set, we got a bonus ... spank rock! oh shits.

finally, vampire weekend was about to come on.
i was so confused though when i saw chromeo's stuff being set up on the stage too.
then i realized, they were gonna play together ... how amazing is that?
they told us that they were gonna film us specifically because we were "true fans" ... i find that really sad that we were probably their only fans in the front.
vamp were great ... and chromeo just made everything 15746463578 times more amazing.
i nearly pissed my pants.



















they also kept filming us during santogold, so yes, you can expect to see me on mtv on NOVEMBER 19TH.
